Assemblies of God Join Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals
Press Release Contact: For Immediate Release Maritza Ramirez August 17, 2009 Press and Media Director, NHCLC hispanicchurch@aol.com hispanicevangelicals.com 916-919-7476 WASHINGTON, Aug. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- America's largest Hispanic Christian Organization, The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC), The Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, announced today the addition to its membership roster of one of America's largest denominations, the Assemblies of God, headquartered in Springfield, Missouri. "It is a natural fit for The Assemblies of God, already the largest Hispanic member denomination to fully join the Hispanic NAE. For years we have served the Hispanic churches in the fellowship via AMEN and the NHCLC. What is historic of this membership and partnership agreement is that we will serve all 12,000 plus churches as it relates to Hispanic American Christian values, priorities and representation as we defend life, marriage and our biblical worldview," stated Dr. Jesse Miranda, Chief Executive Officer of NHCLC. The growth of the Pentecostal Hispanic community within the ranks of the American Evangelical community stands poised to transform the national religious landscape because, according to Pew Research and Dr. Gaston Espinosa, a Latino Evangelical expert, Hispanic Pentecostals stand committed to a strong biblical worldview particularly in issues of social and family values. "With the recent launch of the National Hispanic Pentecostal Congress, in addition to this historic membership/partnership agreement with The General Council of the Assemblies of God, we are demonstrating our commitment to serve a vibrant and powerful emerging community. The relationship between the Assemblies of God and Hispanics can be traced to the early 20th Century when AG missionaries began an outreach to Hispanics in America and abroad resulting in the Pentecostal explosion both domestically and abroad," explained Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, NHCLC President. In addition to membership affiliation, Assemblies of God General Superintendent, the denominations Chief Executive Officer will serve on the Association's Board of Advisors. "The National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the Hispanic National Association of Evangelicals, serves our Fellowship of over 12,000 churches, particularly in representing the values of our Hispanic brethren by defending biblical marriage, life, and advocating social justice from a biblical worldview," stated Dr. George Wood, General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God in America. The Assemblies of God offers a number of academic opportunities via colleges, universities and bible institutes throughout the nation, a compelling feature for the growing Hispanic American Pentecostal community. "The fact that Jesse, Sam and I are Assemblies of God ministers speaks to the prominent role this fellowship exercises within our American and Global Christian family. We are proud to be part of this fellowship and blessed to serve the church as we build a multi-ethnic Kingdom Culture firewall against moral relativism, spiritual apathy and cultural decay," added Dr. Gilbert Velez, Board Chairman.

South Florida Software Company builds and launches Freedom Federation Website
Washington, DC -- Who says that conservatives aren't tech savvy? The first major grassroots web initiative has been launched by a large federation of Conservative faith-based organizations. The federation intends to level the playing field when it comes to quality conservative web initiatives.
The website, located at www.freedomfederation.org, was officially launched Wednesday, August 26, 2009 with the aid of the software development company, WMtek Corp, located in Vero Beach, Florida.
The Freedom Federation is bringing together a coalition of national faith-based organizations and leaders in order to mobilize a multiethnic and trans-generational movement to preserve freedom and promote justice. A partial listing of some of the organizations includes, but is not limited to, the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, America's largest Hispanic Christian organization; Teen Mania, reaching several hundred thousand youth each year; American Association of Christian Counselors, the largest Christian counseling organization with over 50,000 professional members; Liberty University, the largest evangelical university in the world with 50,000 students; Catholic Online; American Family Association; Family Research Council; Liberty Counsel; Liberty Alliance Action; Vision America; Morning Star Ministries; The Call to Action; Concerned Women for America; High Impact Leadership Coalition; Campaign for Working Families; Conservative Action Project; Traditional Values Coalition, a coalition of 45,000 evangelical churches; Faith and Action; Renewing American Leadership; National Clergy Council; Eagle Forum; Americans for Prosperity; Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny (BOND); Life Education and Resource Network (LEARN); and Strang Communications.
The websites resources will address many conservative and Judeo Christian issues. It will serve as the central hub for news and policy information that the Freedom Federation wants to communicate. Currently users can find out more information about the federation members, sign the Declaration of Family Values and receive news updates on issues pertinent to conservative Americans. Phase two of the project will be a very ambitious endeavor which will provide individual users with tools that will allow them to get organized with people in their communities, raise awareness of certain issues by sharing content virally, solicit online donations for important causes and petition the government to act on behalf of family values.
The site will facilitate the involvement of individuals in the free expression of ideas, as well as increasing the ability of both the individual and the organization to enact change based on the grassroots efforts of conservatives.
Dan Pennell, CEO of WMtek and Director of the Freedom Federation web project, stated, "The Freedom Federation is one of the most important active movements happening in America today, and the way they implement and utilize technology may ultimately spell the success or failure of the Federations goals. WMtek is honored to be challenged with such an important responsibility."

Multiethnic, multiracial, and transgenerational federation of organizations unite on health care
NEWS RELEASE
Contact: Communications Director - 800-671-1776
DATE: August 26, 2009 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Human Life From Conception To Natural Death Needs Protection Under Any Health Care
Washington, DC - Today a federation of some of the largest faith-based and policy organizations in the country weighed in on the national health care debate. United in their adherence to core values expressed in the Declaration of American Values, these multiethnic, multiracial, and transgenerational organizations affirm the sanctity of human life from conception to natural death and agree that any health care policy must protect human life.
Without an explicit exclusion for abortion, the health care proposals on the table will fund abortion. Attempts to exclude abortion from the House bill were voted down. The majority of Americans do not support abortion on demand and do not want to fund the destruction of innocent human life. It is a moral imperative to protect human life. As a society treats the most vulnerable among us in the womb, it will similarly treat the aged and the ill. Any health care policy or proposal must protect those with debilitating or terminal illness and the elderly.
Human life is sacred because we are made in the image of God and are endowed by our Creator with the inalienable right to life. Government must protect human life. Life, no matter how young, is not expendable and, no matter how ill or aged, is not to be weighed on a cost-benefit scale. Rather than disregard life and restrict our freedom with bureaucracy and endless paperwork, good government policy should explore creative solutions to address the true number of uninsured, not an inflated political number. Rather than take over health care, government could, for example, provide a dollar-for-dollar tax deduction from a person's gross income for the amount spent on health care premiums or payments. A similar dollar-for-dollar tax deduction with no limit could also be allowed for contributions to faith-based and nonprofit organizations that provide health care free or at a reduced cost for those in need. Health care should be portable and not anchored to a particular job. The solutions are as many as we dare to dream, but government control and bureaucracy are not the answer. No matter the solution, any health care proposal that destroys our freedom and does not protect human life from conception to natural death is unacceptable.
A partial list of the organizations in the Freedom Federation is at www.freedomfederation.org. These and other organizations will participate in a national health care webinar on September 10.
